  • Making educational and career choices is a progressive journey that begins in Grade 9 with subject choices and culminates in Grade 11 when deciding on Tertiary education options. Our approach emphasises a strengths-based framework, ensuring your child’s subject choices and career options align with their natural abilities and long-term aspirations. This ensures your child is well-equipped to navigate these phases confidently.

We utilise scientifically validated psychometric assessments tailored to support effective subject selection. These tools highlight your child’s strengths, preferences, and potential career paths. These will be completed at our offices before the feedback appointment

Following the assessments, we will host a one-hour interactive feedback session with you and your child. During this session, you’ll receive a comprehensive Infographic report detailing:

  • Assessment results
  • Insights into your child’s strengths
  • Recommended subject combinations aligned with potential career or study paths

Assessment Overview

Feedback and Reporting

We will host a one-hour interactive feedback session with you and your child via Zoom. During this session, you’ll be emailed a comprehensive Infographic report detailing:

  • Assessment results
  • Insights into your child’s strengths
  • Recommended subject combinations aligned with potential career or study paths
  • Assessments take approximately 1h30 to complete
  • The feedback appointment is an hour long
  • Your child will attend the assessment session
  • You will attend the appointment together with your child.
  • Further discussion on the recommendations from the initial appointment taking into consideration a student’s current marks and how these align with potential career or study paths.

Appointment Checklist:

  • Check meeting details: date, time, and venue of appointment.
  • Remember first 1.5 hrs is Assessment & last 1hr is feedback with child and parents.
  • Please bring Latest Academic Report: School/university results
    • Grade 9 Students: Grade 8 end-of-year report and the most recent Grade 9 report if available.
    • Grade 12 Students: Grade 11 end-of-year report.
    • Grade 11 Students: Latest two reports.
    • Adults: Submit a CV or recent matric certificate.

Appointment checklist:

  • Complete Clifton StrengthsFinder via the link that will be sent to you via email from the Direction Team.
  • Complete the assessments sent to you from Mindconnect
  • Email the following documents to bookings@directiondd.co.za:
    • Clifton StrengthsFinder Top 5 Report
    • Confirmation of completion of both Mindconnect assessments
    • Latest Academic Report: School/university results
      • Grade 9 Students: Grade 8 end-of-year report and the most recent Grade 9 report if available.
